The UPI One World wallet is a prepaid payment solution introduced by NPCI that allows foreign nationals to make UPI-based payments in India without needing an Indian mobile SIM card. Previously, UPI access required a registered Indian mobile number, which was a major barrier for short term visitors and tourists.
With UPI One World, this barrier has been officially dismantled. International travelers can now onboard using their passport or visa at designated airport kiosks and partner bank outlets, linking their international phone number to a fully functional UPI wallet.
